These are icebreakers games for student. student will feel comfortable and be ready to study.
1. Find the match
This is good for young students. Name your students with the names of vegetables and fruits. Each student must remember the name that you give. Check by asking “ what is your name?”. How to play the game? Locate the chairs aside in your classroom so you have large space in the center. Ask all students to stand up. Ask them to make a group by matching category of color. You can give instruction. When you say “ Green” all students who have alias name green must hold on and make a group. The other students who are not green also make one group. There will be only two groups. They are green and other colors. Check the group! If you find students who are in the wrong group take them out of the group. Repeat giving instruction to make a group by different colors. When you have enough students who make mistake you must stop. All students who are taken out from their group must get funny punishment.
2. Make a line.
Ask students to stand up in the center of the class. Give instruction to make a line. They must make a line based on their first alphabet name. For example; students whose name “ Albert should stand at the front of the line”. Limit the time! all students will be crowded when they have this game at the first time because they will need time to adjust their name in alphabetical order. You can also change the line in order of Height, and birthday. Stop the game while they feel fun and start the lesson.
3. Yell
You might be a scout member when you were at school. You can remember yells that you learn. You can also create a yell on your own. You can also combine the yell with clap hand and step on foot. The yell will wake your students up.
4. Forehead label
You need and adhesive label. Each student write a famous name on the label but please don’t tell the name to others. Stick the label on each student forehead. All students must exchange their label. Remember not to tell the name to the student whose forehead got the label attached. Now ask your students to get the name of the label. They must ask with yes no questions “ Am I an artist?, Am I a doctor? Am I a female? And other questions! Let them ask until they know the answer or can guess the answer. First five students who can guess the label name they win the game.
5. What are you?
First, you must draw three or four circles with a chalk on the floor. Locate all tables and chairs. Then, each circle has different name you can choose animal, fruit, vegetable, and artist. Next, ask all students to stand up. They are out of the circles. After that, give instruction to enter the circles. All students are free to choose a circle they like. Finally ask “ What are you? To each student in the circles. Each student must answer correctly. When he or she in circle of animal, he or she must answer “ I am a lion” if he or she answers “ I am a banana” he or she has made a mistake. Take him / her out of the circle. Continue asking to all students if you have enough time. Give funny punishment to student who gives wrong answer.
