Negative effect of violence videos in youtube for children

There is too much negative effect of violence videos in youtube for children. Youtube is one of the most searched sites of video sharing. It is one of the highest traffic sites. Thousand or even million videos are uploaded every month. Thousand viewers drop this site everyday regardless ages, countries, and orientation. Unfortunately, children access youtube easily. All the videos are free even violence. There are riot, fight, torture, and child abuse. Children can see this terrible thing freely. This is very dangerous for their mental development. The negative effect of watching violence videos is very awful. 

Children can access youtube videos easily. They use ipad, pc, laptop, and hand phone. From those technologies, they watch violence videos without any control from their parents. They can access youtube wherever and whenever they want. Their parents do not realize when they leave their children play with those gadgets. There are some dangers crawling to catch their children. Youtube  editors forbid pornographic videos but they do not prohibit violence. Watching violence videos has very bad effect in children. Don’t all parents realize that their children are learning how to do violence when they watch crime videos?

There is too much negative effect of watching violence videos for children.  Children will learn how to hurt, kill, and torture others. That is terrible. Very young children can watch how a person is slaughtered. They will remember and store the experience in their long-term memory. They will think that slaughtering is legal because they can access and watch the videos freely. No one prohibit them from watching the anarchy. They will build an image in their mind that violence is legal. They can practice the action of violence at another time.

Children are the best copiers. They will copy what they see and listen. When they see violence and no one comments that they are not allowed to see it, they can practice it to their friends. Youtube serves thousands violence videos that children can access easily. The worst thing is that some parents watch the violence videos together with their little kids.  Children obtain this very destructive mental picture from youtube. The violence can be a second teacher after their teacher at school.

A bad outcome happened in Indonesia few years ago. Some elementary school students hurt their mates by hitting, spinning and smacking.  Some of the victims were hospitalized. Why did those children do this act? That time, one of private televisions had a violence program. That was WWF Smack down show. Many children imitated the actors in the show whereas the action of the actors was very dangerous. The Indonesian government talked and prohibited the show. Since the show stopped, there has been no news about violence among children by spinning, hitting and smacking.

Parents and educators should build good communication and have the same perception of violence in youtube. They must keep en eye and control their children to access youtube. They must give knowledge that watching violence videos from youtube is not allowed. Violence is an illegal practice and a bad act. Parents do not have to prohibit their children from using or watching youtube. They must accompany them to watch videos from youtube.

When children have understood that violence is illegal and dangerous they will not be interested in watching violence videos from youtube. Parents and educators must teach all children to use youtube as a tool to be teaching and learning aid. Therefore, children will realize the negative effect of violence videos in youtube for them and use youtube as a learning tool.
